Everest Base Camp is one of the most trekked destinations around the country and this journey sees a fair share of tourists every year. The ecstasy of being so close in front of the tallest mountain in the word is hard to put into words. But beautiful destinations come with a hard climb as the trails take us to the moraines and steep stairs. 

Everest Base Camp is the very likely destination for trekkers who want to test their endurance. However, there are packages for novice trekkers as well. And even if you are not much of a trekking person, this journey can be completed by helicopter as well. There are different packages as per one wishes and the costs and services vary with the packages.

Depending upon the packages and the route, Everest Base Camp can take from two to four weeks to complete. Trekkers’ fitness and trekking experience for sure adds to how much one can enjoy the journey. The often trekked trail shall be completed in two weeks whereas the lesser trekked trail could take 3 - 4 weeks.

But there is an option to trekking as well as one can reach the base camp by helicopter as well. In doing so, one would miss the enthralling trails, the cultures of the Sherpa villages en route and the endangered flora and fauna of the Sagarmatha National Park.’

1.Trekking to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake and Chola pass

This trek is completed in 17 days starting from Kathmandu and this package takes you to ten other destinations. Accommodation in the hotel, flight ticket, experienced guide, meals, transport, first aid and more are included in this package.

 

Maximum group size can be 20 people between the age range of 18 to 80. The journey is majorly completed by hiking or trekking with minimum transportation needed. The journey is commenced at Kathmandu when you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).

 Next day you will fly to Lukla which is a 30 minutes flight above the lush mountains. The trek starts here onwards as the mountain range embark our way.

2. Everest Base Camp and back by helicopter

  Starting from Kathmandu, this package is best for the people who love traveling but prefer not to trek. This package sees most of the journey completed by the means of transportation. All age groups from children to old people can complete the journey.

 A group of maximum 16 people can be accommodated in this package. Accommodation, meal, and transportation are inclusive in the package. Expert and experienced guides will accompany you throughout the journey starting from Kathmandu.

This package includes an experienced travel guide who will give you a brief orientation about the journey before you commence. Accommodation will be done in the best possible lodges with attached bathrooms and hot showers at Phakding, Namche and Lukla.

The helicopter flight will be from Kala Patthar to Lukla while Kathmandu to Lukla will be via plane. The guide provided will be an experienced one with years of experience in the route with fluent English so there won’t be a problem for communication. 

Besides potters are available as well to carry the gears. Full board meals are included and will be different for vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Pick up and drop at the hotel and airport included. Trekking gears are also provided which should be returned at the end of the journey.

All the paperwork and permits are managed before the start of the journey. Government taxes and service charges are included in the package. Search and rescue is arranged in the worst-case scenario with insurance guaranteed.
